The evolution of energy sources and the various accompanying effects associated with each era is one thing the world cannot look away from. As a new era evolve, the demerits of the previous idea are reflected resolved. Every invention is an improvement of the old edition.
From the biomass and other sources of energy, such as windmills and watermills of the 18th century to the advanced biotechnologies of the 21st century to include solar and other renewable sources of energy. These takes into cognisance environmental and economic effects. They are more environmentally friendly with considerably low or no hazards to human health and can be more economical in usage.
A sight of this ‘green energy’ (as contained in the picture), a life tree used as electric pole with leaves visibly sprouting out at the top leaves me with questions yet unanswered, ‘where is the place of Africa among the world in this evolution of sources of energy?’ Is this truly a green energy? Is it friendly or detrimental to life and the environment? Particularly in the long run, is this economical or penny-wise, pound-foolish?
We have all it takes to lead the rest of the world. We can indeed change the narratives. We must arise and get rid of all things as this that always depict us as underdeveloped.
