Steam’s latest desktop client update is now available on Windows, macOS, and Linux, introducing a range of new features designed to improve usability and performance.
Players can now set custom sort names for games, making it easier to organize series like Yakuza or Like a Dragon in chronological order. Additionally, users can apply custom artwork to their games, personalizing their libraries beyond the default headers.
The update also adds a new accessibility menu, including high-contrast mode, reduced motion options, and UI scaling for larger fonts and buttons. The in-game overlay has been enhanced to fix blurry fonts and alignment issues, especially on displays scaled above 100%.
For performance monitoring, Steam now supports CPU temperature tracking on Windows and Linux, along with DPI scaling for the Performance Monitor. Users can disable temperature monitoring in the settings if desired.
Other improvements include filtering private games in dynamic collections, a new Customization tab for artwork and sort titles, and wider store pages for high-resolution monitors. The update also fixes issues with duplicated controllers and overlay behavior.
macOS users are warned that support for macOS 11 ends on October 15, 2025, so an OS update will be required.
