Dear Dad, Your passing away came to me as a shock. It was so painful to admit that you were gone but I know that you are alive and with the LORD in Heaven. I miss you so much. You were such a wonderful Father, very loving and caring. You were a Lover of GOD, Believer in the LORD and one given to prayer and studying of the WORD and Christian literature. I recalled as a child seeing your library filled with books written by Men of GOD, the likes of Oral Roberts, Richard Roberts, Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, W. F. Kumuyi etc. You kept those precepts till the end and as adults, we saw you read books written by Dr. David Oyedepo even when challenged. Thank you for laying down the Legacy of Serving the LORD and Living for His Praise and Glory. You made us see and know that it pays to serve GOD. You were selfless, diligent, meticulous, intelligent, fun to be with, jovial and I could go on and on… You were a man of integrity, discipline and uprightness. You taught me financial integrity, accountability and made me understand the value of education, high moral standards, humility and hard work. At home was the cradle that birth the desire to read within me. I recalled scanning through your rich library of books and discovering inspirational books, French dictionaries and novels that not only birth in me the desire to read but also broadened my vocabularies and deepened imaginations as well as provided the bedrock from which the desire to write books as a child sprung up - a privilege I do not take for granted. You believed in Academic Excellence and not only were you a shining example of a true gem 💎 you installed that virtue in me and my siblings. You baffled my twin and I when you took to the board to teach us mathematics after Mum had done her part, so we could pass our common entrance exams. We were amazed at such tender age to know how interested you were in the academic success of your family and especially your children despite your busy schedules. You inspired me to take the ‘Bull-by-the-Horn’ in my Academics while in High School and I picked up the Physics Textbook Abbott and took on the challenge of teaching myself Physics; so during the Christmas break, instead of roaming from compound to compound or joining the youths in fights between Masquerade groups, I sat down and studied Abbott cover to cover. That opened a new dispensation for me in Science, Technology, Engineering and in my academic pursuits and strategies as I realized I had what it takes to study any course in the world and the doggedness to do that. You were meticulous when it came to our results. You were not moved by first, second or third positions but the quality and standard of the grades obtained and the average performance of the year with respect to the expected outcomes. That I learnt from you and have applied it ever since. You had such great ethical values at work and you were very reliable as well as a mentor to several. You are a True example of a believer and I and my siblings are privileged to see that first hand and experience the Power of a Praying Father. You had such tremendous insight into the word that we were always blessed whenever we had family devotion. You also took interest in our musical talents recording our songs right from primary school. It is so hard… but GOD is my Comforter and Strength and I know you are resting in Glory with the LORD. So I know that I will see you again someday when the LORD comes in Glory.
